Serrano Lavado – Caribbean Single Estate

Born in the lush mountain ranges of the Nipe–Sagua–Baracoa massif, this washed Arabica is a rare island-grown treasure. Cultivated at altitudes of 450–950 m under the canopy of citrus, banana, and timber trees, the coffee thrives in fertile non-carbonate brown soils nourished by 1,300–1,500 mm of natural rainfall each year.

Hand-picked between September and January, each bean is washed (lavado) and sun-dried to preserve its clarity and sweetness. The result is a smooth, full-bodied cup with a chocolatey aroma and a clean finish — a reflection of the region’s unique mountain microclimate and centuries-old French-inspired wet-processing tradition.

This coffee embodies the harmony of people and landscape — grown by smallholder cooperatives within UNESCO-protected biosphere reserves and supported by community projects that empower rural women and preserve the surrounding forests.
